without you! The positions available are

Program Director, but we still need to fill the other positions.
REMINDER: TIME TO PAY YOUR 2014
MEMBERSHIP DUES.
There is a membership form at the end of the newsletter that received in your mail or email. Dues are $20.00.
There will
be a signup sheet at the meeting to bring refreshments for Pat Knoechel on May
30.
2 1/2” Strip Drawing
The winner
of last month’s strips was Lois Chiacchiero.
Please try
to be as accurate as possible when cutting the strips. Here are the colors for the next few months
in case you want to get a head start on cutting.
April-Pastel
May-Purple
Our
Laundry Basket Quilter was Peggy Evar.
She showed us a variety of quilts including whole cloth quilts, mini
quilts and 30’s fabric quilts.
Ingrid
Whitaker received a crazy quilt at the last meeting. She sends a big thank you to everyone who
helped with it.
**We have
the opportunity to showcase our quilts at the Ashtabula Arts Center in
2015. That seems far off, but it will be
here before you know it! Peggy submitted
the application and chose May, June or July.
They will let us know which one we are given.
Barn Quilt Project
The Barn
Quilt project has been getting good support.
The guild agreed to sponsor the first barn quilt, which will be placed
on the new barn at the Blakeslee Log Cabin.
If anyone would like more information, they can subscribe to the online
newsletter, ashtabulawave.org. They also
have articles about positive things going on in our community. This newsletter is free!
The Grange
would like to have 2 X 2 blocks around the Grange building at the fairgrounds,
and Ingrid is working with them on that.
Comfort Quilts
The
recommended sizes are 48” x 54” for Veteran’s and Beatitude House quilts and
36” (or up to WOF) x 48” for children quilts.
If you
make a block (or two or three) in red, white and blue from the block Holly
demonstrated the previous month, one of our lovely ladies will volunteer to
make a comfort quilt from them. Holly has
also been picking the name of one of the people who brought a block and they
get a gift.
The
following ladies brought in blocks from last month’s block.
