On Friday, June 15th, the Ashtabula Friendly Quilters (AFQ) quilt guild hosted a trunk show put on by the queen of scraps, Bonnie Hunter! Bonnie has been well known in the quilt community for her stash busting mystery quilt-a-longs, her "Scrap User's" system, and the wealth of information as well as free patterns on her website Quiltville. In recent years she has published three books (Scraps and Shirttails, Scraps and Shirttails II, and Adventures with Leaders and Enders) with another coming out in July (String Fling) and traveled the world (literally!) giving lectures and workshops.
Ladies traveled from all over Northeast Ohio and surrounding states to see Bonnie and her amazing quilts up close and in person...here's a few pictures of our great night with Bonnie:

One of the best parts of the night was when Bonnie let us go up and actually thumb through her quilts. Below is a handwork project she takes with her on the road, she says it is english paper pieced with two inch hexagon scraps.
